Upper Booth Farm Campsite

£ 1
Description

Upper Booth Farm Campsite is surrounded by countryside and hills below the heather-clad moors of the Kinder plateau. It has all the charm of a traditional campsite, a quiet place for an unplugged holiday immersed in nature. The Pennine Way passes right through the farm and it's easy to set off from the campsite to explore the valley. It's a two-mile walk through the fields to Edale, which has a village shop, cafés and pubs.

There are marked trails and mapped routes for every kind of walk in the area. From the Snake Pass, follow a circular walk around Kinder Reservoir, or for gritstone rock formations and waterfall Kinder Downfall, head for Kinder Scout, the highest point in the Peak District. Trespass protests here in the 1930s led to the creation of the UK's first National Park, the Peak District, and now the area is a focus for restoration projects that are helping to lock in carbon, reduce flooding and provide thriving wildlife habitats. It's not far to iconic Mam Tor - the site of a bronze age hilltop fortress.

Check-in is from 1pm, with departures by 11am. Quiet time is 10pm - 7am so please make sure this works for your group before booking. For
